DELRIN
Delrin acetal resins are made by the polymerisation of formaldehyde. They have established a strong reputation for its reliability in all types of engineering components over more than 30 years since DuPont discovered and introduced it to the world. They are mainly used in the automotive, appliance, sports, industrial engineering, electronics and consumer goods industries.
Delrin offers a unique combination of properties not available with metal or other plastics. Delrin certain characteristics that makes it stand up above other types of nylon. Among those characteristics include :
Although Delrin packs in a lot of advantages, Delrin is not recommended to be used in strong acids or bases outside the range of pH 4 to pH 9. Delrin also should not be used under constant exposure to pressurised hot water or vapour. Other than that, Delrin should not be used in medical applications involving permanent implication in the human body. Delrin acetal homopolymer offers significantly better mechanical structure properties than copolymer due to the highly crystalline structure of the acetal homopolymer.
